This concept is born from this question: how could a smartwatch interface feel more playful and motivating for runners, instead of just showing numbers?
On the watch screen, a small, cute character runs—its speed matching the runner’s speed in real time. Walk, jog, sprint… the character reacts instantly, turning effort into visual feedback.
Designed and animated entirely in @rive.app , this experiment explores how motion, interaction, and character animation can make wearable experiences more engaging—especially on tiny screens.
There’s still a lot more that could be done with it. I’ll probably work on it again in the future.
